The Beastie Boys was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this april. The ceremony will be broadcast on HBO tomorrow at 9pm. The Beastie Boys became the third rap group to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, after Run-D.M.C. (2009) and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (2007).
Today Adam Yauch, a member of grammy award winning group Beastie Boys, has died. He was 47 years old. Yauch is survived by his wife and daughter.
The Brooklyn-born musician known to fans as MCA was first treated for cancerous growths in his parotid gland and a lymph node in 2009 and subsequently underwent surgery and radiation therapy, which forced the delay of the Beastie Boys’ most recent album.
